About Department

Welcome to the Department of Mechanical Engineering at S.L.B.S. Engineering College, where experienced faculty and highly motivated students - supported by a dedicated staff - experience a unique engineering education.

The Department offers academic programme leading to Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.). In addition, continuing education programme in specialized areas are offered on a regular basis for industry professionals and academic staff from other colleges.

An extremely dynamic and large faculty, and a well experienced support staff, give the Department a breadth of research focus and wide range of technical expertise. Our experienced faculty members have a passion for teaching and an avowed commitment to research and development. Majority of the faculty holds Masters Degrees from reputed institutes. Apart from teaching, the faculty is engaged in diverse research areas. They publish their work in highly reputed journals and present their work at prestigious national and international conferences.

We provide our students opportunities to engage in experiments, design work, project work, industrial training, seminars, and team work to enhance the learning process that is so vital for a holistic engineering education. They develop skills of inquiring and exploring new ideas on their own. In essence, they are well prepared for the life-long learning that is vital for an enriching career in engineering. Our students develop an ability to think, are able to innovate, and acquire a strong foundation in technical knowledge.

Its excellent staff and facilities that include sophisticated experimental and computer laboratories include the following:

• Unique laboratories for CAD lab, Theory of Machines , Material testing , etc. which are important for mechanical engineering education.
• A superbly equipped vibration and controls laboratory.
• An excellent heat transfer laboratory.
• Excellent workshops including Production labs Metrology CAM ( CNC).
• An I.C.E Lab for visualizing and performing Experiments.
